To mark the seventh anniversary of Purple Rain, I held a photography exhibition in Rathfriland on the theme In the line of duty, in Rathfriland Young Farmers’ Hall.
I was delighted with the turnout and response from family, friends and neighbours as well as the local community. Colleagues I had worked with in the past journeyed from Belfast and Bangor and were greeted in Rathfriland by some welcome spring sunshine! It was lovely to see kids and teenagers come along and some even took time to sign the guest book as well.
Thank you to everyone who came along – your support and encouragement means a lot to me. I also want to personally thank those who helped cater at the event, provided refreshments and other items to enable the exhibition to run smoothly: Molly Skillen, Janet McConnell, Heather Henning, Heather Weir, Dessie Cheney, Claire Boyd, Vincenta Leyden, Lisa Stewart, Marion Ross, Jacqueline Cromie, Heather Hanna, Irene Scott, Rosemary Murray and Joyce McConnell.
Together, we raised £783.55 for the Simon Community. They will use this to provide a warm welcome to people who are homeless in their time of need, provide support for people suffering from mental ill health and addiction problems, and help move their clients from temporary accommodation into permanent homes.
Here is a video of highlights from the exhibition, enjoy!
