The Presbyterian Church in Ireland commissioned Dr Gladys Ganiel and Jamie Yohanis to write a book to help gather the experiences of Presbyterians and the Troubles.
Purple Rain assisted by managing press at the launch in Belfast on 5th November 2019 and issuing out the press release and pictures and liaising with radio producers. There were mentions on digital channels for Belfast Telegraph, Leigh Journal, Shropshire Star, Irivine Times, Ardross Herald, Premier and The Courier. Slugger O’Toole also ran a blog after one of their contributors attended the launch.
A very moving 20 minute interview with Rev Terry Laverty was aired on Wednesday 6th November on Frank Mitchell’s u105 radio programme.
The News Letter used extracts from the book following the launch as did the Belfast Telegraph. Will Scholes from the Irish News wrote a very positive op ed on Friday 8th November.
The book was also launched at four regional events across Northern Ireland, press releases and media invitations were issued to all relevant local press titles which resulted in media coverage online and in print.
A 5 minute interview was aired with Rev Tony Davidson on Northern Sound on the afternoon of the Armagh launch, 21st November. Rev Davidson was also featured on Ocean FM in January 2020 in their Arts programme.
