Purple Rain was awarded a contract in February 2013 to deliver 12 months PR support to the YFCU in an in-house capacity. Communications support included press liaison, writing and issuing press releases, management of website and social media platforms and assisting in event management. To aid Public Relations Officers at club and county level, a PRO guidebook was produced detailing hints and tips on a range of topics including Facebook, photography and media relations.
Liaison with sponsors was also an integral part of the contract and photocalls were arranged to provide coverage in the farming press.
Three editions of the official magazine, Rural Dispatch were also produced during the contract.
