Purple Rain worked with the Young Farmer’s Clubs of Ulster to create #yfsms14 – a social media seminar designed to explore the role of social media in farming and rural life. Held in December 2014, the event attracted over 80 YFCU members and friends in the Assembly Buildings Conference Centre, in Belfast. Key speakers included social media expert and author David Taylor and local businesses such as Leggygowan Farm and Anna Mathers Photography took part. A panel was held to answer queries from the interactive Twitter wall. Guests enjoyed a buffet supper with specially designed hashtag shortbread keeping in line with the social media theme. Media coverage was gained in the BBC Radio Ulster’s Farm Gate programme and the Farming Life.
